A Slice of Writing by Nikkei and Tusán Peruvian Writers
Words Without Borders presents the guest editor’s introduction to the September 2020 issue featuring Peruvian writers of Asian descent. Based in part on research conducted on a 2019 Fulbright fellowship in Peru.
Founded in 2003, Words Without Borders expands cultural understanding through the translation, publication, and promotion of the finest contemporary international literature. “Who Writes Peru: Asian Peruvian Writers,” the September 2020 issue, presents fiction, poetry, and a crónica by seven Peruvian writers of Chinese and Japanese descent.
